In the Louisville Repertory Company’s current staging of the show, the questions of self that have been debated for millennia and provides no easy answers, are raised again with a flourish; it’s a solid production of a play that dares to make you think.

LOUISVILLE REPERTORY CO. SOARS WITH 'CUCKOO'S NEST'

What is remarkable about this play is the humanity brought to every character, thanks to the script, the tight direction and a talented cast; there is a clear sense that these are full human beings living and breathing even after stepping foot offstage. This production is sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, but always genuine — not to be missed.

THE NAUGHTY FUN OF “GREAT AMERICAN SEX PLAY” FROM LOUISVILLE REPERTORY COMPANY IS SURPRISINGLY THOUGHT-PROVOKING

The play itself by Louisville Repertory Company is every bit as bold as the title, taking on a Very Big Topic (the nature of inherent sexual identity) in a vastly entertaining and adult manner that will delight many and scandalize some... and if it does [scandalize], the cast and crew should accept it as a measure of their success. This production is provocative with a capital “P” and proud of it.
